Scarborough Veterinary Clinic - Our Staff - Dr Maris Eastgate

Dr Maris Eastgate BVMS (Hons), BSc (Veterinary Biology)

Principal Veterinarian

 
Dr. Maris grew up in Brisbane surrounded by horses, dogs and cats. She studied at Murdoch University, attaining a Bachelor of Science (Veterinary Biology) in 1994 and Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (first class merit honours) in 1996. She took over Scarborough Vet Surgery in 2003.

Dr Maris enjoys spending time at the beach or sharpening her golf skills.

Dr. Maris loves all aspects of working at Scarborough Vet Surgery and is especially happy in the consult room or in the surgery/dentistry area. She is available for consultations and surgeries Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Dr Melanie Fedrick BVSc

Veterinarian

Dr. Melanie is a big animal lover, with a special place in her heart for her senior patients. She graduated the University of Queensland in 1998 and then went on to own and manage a successful mixed animal practise in a small country town. She brings to Scarborough Vet Surgery a vast amount of experience in many areas including large animals and small animals.

When Dr. Melanie is not at work she is actively involved in her local pony club and looking after her menagerie of pets.

Dr Chantelle BVSc (Hons)

Veterinarian

Dr Chantelle graduated from The University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours) in January 2020.

Chantelle enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, with a particular interest in soft tissue surgery, dentistry and endocrinology.

In her downtime, Chantelle enjoys playing video games, taking her dog Chi Chi for walks and playing Pokemon Go in the local community.

Dr Steven Coe BSc, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr Steven completed a Bachelor of Science at Monash University and then went on to study the DVM at The University of Melbourne, graduating in 2021.

His veterinary goals involve pursuing a challenging and diverse career, aiming to explore a variety of areas in the veterinary industry in order to develop a wide scope of practice and expertise. In the future, Steven wishes to experience the veterinary industry from a different perspective, whether that be working rural or working in a developing country such as South America or India.

Outside of work, he enjoys exercising or going for a hike, often accompanied by his partner and their Australian Shepherd, Mila. Otherwise, he can be found at a sporting event, music concert or a new restaurant. When there is the opportunity for extended holidays, Steven loves to travel, and having visited places like Africa, India and Borneo, he wishes to travel to South America or Egypt next.

Kirsten Rolls

Practice Manager

Kirsten moved to Brisbane from Perth in 2015 and is still enjoying the exciting opportunities Brisbane has to offer.

Kirsten commenced her nursing career straight out of high school, starting out as a trainee nurse in 2007 and has remained in various management roles in both emergency and general practice settings since 2010.

Since moving to Brisbane, Kirsten has worked in medical centres of both human and animal medical facilities. She still finds that after 16 years her passion still lies with the animal species.

Kirsten lives with her partner and two French Bulldogs, Charlie and Daisy. She is a bit of a social butterfly and in her spare time loves exploring Brisbane and camping up and down the coast of Queensland. Whilst keeping fit and healthy she also loves activities such as dance, netball, cooking, going to the gym and taking advantage of the beautiful beaches her with partner and very spoilt Frenchie’s, Charlie and Daisy!

Bec

Veterinary Nurse

VN Bec Vet Nurse Bec has lived on the peninsula most of her life and is a Redcliffe girl through and through. Her affinity with animals was evident from a very young age and she always aspired to be a veterinary nurse. In her teenage years, Bec spent her weekends volunteering in the cattery at the Peninsula Animal Aid and undertook work placement at Scarborough Veterinary Surgery.

After having her family, Bec reignited her passion and commenced her vet nursing studies, returning to Scarborough Vet Surgery as a trainee and has completed Certificate IV in Vet Nursing. She has a very peaceful and gentle way about her when caring for your pets, and loves nothing more than caring for our elderly patients with frosted faces. Bec is a fear free technician.

Brittany

Veterinary Nurse

VN Brittany brings her bright and happy personality into work everyday. She started at the Scarborough vet surgery in 2018 as a trainee and completed Certificate IV in Vet Nursing in 2020. She has had a passion and love for animals from a very young age. VN Brittany has a special interest in all things puppies and kittens and runs our puppy preschool program. When she’s not at work you can find her with her family including her nephews, her three spoilt little kitties and her two dogs. She also loves to go horseback riding or curl up with a good book.

Kambe

Veterinary Nurse

VN Kambe is another one of our bright, dedicated and humorous team members. Kambe grew up on a dairy farm in the north east of Tasmania, and was looking after animals from an early age. She started her Veterinary Nursing career in 2000 and moved to sunny Queensland in 2021. Her career began working with large animals, but she has since found her passion with dogs and cats.

When not chasing after her husband and two teenage girls, she is frequently found riding her bike around the peninsula.

Caitlin

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Meet Caitlin our newest trainee to the clinic! She is currently completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. From a young age, Caitlin’s dream was to help and care for animals. So after a few years travelling around Europe and South East Asia, it was time to chase that dream.

On her days off, you will find Caitlin in a café sipping coffee, or off camping with her Border Collie to the beach or the bush!
